If you would like to taste the dishes of the Venetian tradition overlooking the “Grand Canal” of Murano in front of the prestigious Glass Museum with a suggestive scenario over the lagoon, so the terrace over the canal of the Trattoria Valmarana is the ideal for you.

This restaurant, skilfully managed by Adriano Carrara, the owner, offers you atmospheres which fit every exigencies of wellness and relax. In addition to the above-mentioned terrace, a wide summer garden and a hall with the famous Venetian stuccoes are the places in which you could plunge in the traditional savours based on fish cuisine.

Don’t miss the big mixed hors-d’œuvre “Valmarana” composed by sardines, dormouse and canocchias (the so called “canoccie” in the Venetian dialect). Between first dishes we want to cite the risotto with scampi and rocket and the pasta with the famous sauce “Busera” composed by scampi and tomato. A triumph of second dishes with the “bisatto” in “tecia” and the oven rhombus. Very delicious is the fried “Valmarana” with the unusual use of the red mullet. The must to taste is the oven “crazy” crab…

The Trattoria Valmarana is reachable from Piazzale Roma with the direct line in 26 minutes or with the line 41 in an hour ten minutes. For both the navigation lines the stop is Murano – Navagero. There are a lot of quickly connections from Murano to Fondamente Nuove and, during the summer, there is a line departing from “San Zaccaria”; the stop is Saint Mark Square.
